Animal Paper...1st draft

Being told you are an animal is probably not considered a compliment. Why is that? When truth is we are all animals. We do things and act in similar ways than what society considers animals. So what makes us different?

There are 6 obstacles that seperate us from other animals. Genesis, the belief that god made us as a image of himself, and after "animals." This leads us to believe that everything that is done, everything that happens leads up to us humans.

Genesis chapter one verse 28 states " And God blessed them, and God said onto them, Be fruitful, and multiply.......and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon earth." What is being understood here is that God wants us to multiply, but more importantly take advantage that all that was given to us, all that we as humans rule. Also in
Genesis, chapter one verse 26 states "And God said, Let us make men in our image after our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air , and over the cattle, and over all earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth." Once this was read humans believed that animals were made for the purpose to benefit us, they only exist for us,the rulers of all animals. For anyone who relies on the bible, believing that we are all animals will probably be quite difficult for them. Since this source pretty much seperates us from another species.

We see a difference in Scientific Classification. Here what is being stated is that humans and all other animals are the same because we are part of the same web. A chart is made for scientific classification, here we are put as " the wise humans." We are divided from Eukargate ( meaning in some ways we are the same). We all come from the same place, meaning that in one way or another we are all connected.

The fact that 95% of out kind is around other humans. Meaning that we spend most if not all our time with humans, not any other kind of animal. We do things that non-human animals are not able to do, such as read, write and things of that sort. This also means that we would not know how to interact and behave like non-human animals, since we are not used to doing this on a day to day basis.This goes along with the idea that we excercise non animal traits.
Evolution is the idea that chimps and apes evolved to become humans. This happened so that we could be responsible for creating everything around us. Hence, the fact that we are considered to be on top of the evolution ladder. Above any other species, making us think that we rule all that is under us.

Rene Decart separates from animals, like the rest of the obstacles. He believes that we are different then animals because we have the ability to think. To Decart mind is what matters, not bodies. He believed animals to be robot like, with no minds, while we where able to have both, but using our minds allowed us to live.

Even though the idea of us all being animals Is not one that we are very fond of, there are many benifits of being an animal. For example, when women think of birth they automatically believe it to be a painful experience. But why should it be that way? Non-human animals have been giving birth without the help of pain reducing medicines for many years, so why us, who are said to be on top of everything else, can't? If we realize we are animals we would not get freaked out about many things such as puberty and sex, we would probably just embrace it.
We would priorities the physical. We would run around and play when we wanted to, in order to make us happier as well.
